My husband and I were in Sequim yesterday for a rainy start to the 115th Irrigation Festival. We wanted to try a new place (for us) to eat in the area. So we chose the Old Mill Cafe on the Carlsborg Rd. We arrived at 2:40 pm in the afternoon. A hostess seated us, one waitress took our order, and another waitress brought us coffee, all within the first 5-10 minutes. Service was friendly and cheerful. My husband had the Mexican omelette, I had an Eggs Benedict with fresh Dungeness crab and fresh spinach. Both orders came with fried potatoes, and my husband’s order came with his choice of toast. Food was good, coffee was good, and we were out of there within an hour. There was one other table occupied; it was obviously the end of the Sunday brunch shift. Breakfast is served until 3 pm on Sundays. I thought the decor was attractive and interesting, with all the momentos from the Carlsborg mill days, and memorabilia hanging on the walls and even placed under the glass tabletops for perusal while waiting for our food. Bathroom was clean. We didn’t find the prices too high, but then we’re from the Seattle area, so I guess everything is relative. We obviously picked the right time to visit the Old Mill Cafe!
